Why We Named Our Brand "Hyzr" – And What It Means for Disc Golf and Activewear

If you’re reading this, you’ve likely heard the term "hyzer" (pronounced high-zer) floating around on the disc golf course. But what is it exactly? In disc golf, a hyzer is a type of throw where the outer edge of the disc points downward at an angle on release, allowing the disc to naturally curve along its built-in fade path. For right-hand backhand throws, that means the disc will curve left, often with a graceful, predictable arc that every disc golfer knows and loves.

We chose to call our brand Hyzr as a nod to this throw—both because we love the way it sounds and because it represents what we aim to bring to the game. The spelling twist, Hyzr instead of hyzer, reflects our goal of bringing something fresh and innovative to disc golf activewear. We’re here to be on the leading edge, merging performance and style in a way that makes players feel and perform their best on the course. While we could tell you we picked the name because the hyzer is the most reliable and consistent throw in disc golf—predictable and high-performing—the truth is, we just love saying hyzer!
